John Casola

John Casola brings more than 30 years of elite experience in lending, structuring, and advising on project finance and public-private partnerships (P3s) across North America. A recognized leader in the Canadian infrastructure sector, John has spent three decades shaping the market from both the public and private sides.
Most recently, John served as the Chief Investment Officer at the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB), where he built and led the investments team for over seven years. In this pivotal role, he directed the CIB’s investment and advisory strategies, driving capital deployment, transaction structuring, and asset management. Under his leadership, the team collaborated with project sponsors nationwide to unlock private and institutional investment, successfully closing 110 transactions and deploying over $19B in capital.
John’s distinguished career includes serving as the Managing Partner of PwC’s Infrastructure and Government Services team in Canada, and founding and managing Investec Bank’s Project and Infrastructure Finance presence in North America. He began his career practicing law at Torys LLP and has been instrumental in advising on many of Canada's "first-of-its-kind" P3 projects.
John holds a BA in Political Science from Carleton University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor. He has also completed Executive Development programs at Harvard University and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
